Thursday afternoon, under glorious sunshine at Cowdray Polo Club, Lyndon Lea’s Zacara polo team beat the Pieres brothers’ La Bamba de Areco 13 – 7 to win the second simi final of the British Open Polo Championships for a spot in the final for the coveted Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup.

Lea has been a long-term supporter of Polistas and is old friends and a former business associate of Polistas founder Johnny Lynn.

The Zacara team wear caps, polo shirt and windbreakers custom made by Polistas in black and white with the distinctive Zacara “Z”.

The team plays in Florida during the high goal season in winter, England for the Queens Cup and Gold Cup and in Santa Barbara, California (where Prince William recently played) during August and September and Zacara won the West Coast Open at the club.

Lea started high goal polo only half a dozen years ago and once named his team “Jimmy Choo” after the luxury shoe brand he owned.

Polistas will be at the Gold Cup Finals this Sunday supporting Zacara and operating a trade stand with Veuve Clicquot official merchandise.
